Card value and cash value

The price of a pack, the value of a card, and its sellback amount are three different numbers.

NumberMeaning
Pack priceWhat one opening costs before separate transaction fees.
Recorded card valueThe inventory valuation used by this pack system.
Insured value / buyback amount93% of the recorded market value, rounded down to the cent.

A simple example

You pay $5 to open a pack. Your card has a recorded value of $3. You can keep the card, or the gross sellback calculation is $2.79. A higher-value pull would produce a different amount; neither is promised by the pack price.

Expected value is an average, not a promise

Expected value combines all possible values with their probabilities. The catalog builder targets market value near 102% of pack price, but the actual inventory mix and rounding determine each pack's calculated result.

For illustration, 102% multiplied by a 93% sellback rate is 94.86% before cent rounding and fees. A market-value target above the pack price does not imply a positive cash return.

Actual release-plan figures vary by pack. A target is neither the live measured return nor a guarantee for a session, batch, or individual opening.
